How To Wire Motorcycle CDI Ignitions from Scratch

This is how I got from from "what do all these wires do?" to "this one goes here, that one goes there..." when wiring Metric electronic ignitions. The term CDI is a bit confusing here, it relates the point where manufacturers stopped using mechanical ignition advance with an electronically triggered igniter, started using a look up table stored on a chip (probably), and called it Computerised Digital Ignition or CDI. An acronym that was already in use for Capacitor Discharge Ignition which works in a whole different way. So if you're looking to wire a dirt bike, quad, or scooter, you need a different video.
