As the weather seemed to be changing, the first raindrops of the season were falling, and at the same time, the rattlesnakes, common in this area, began to emerge. We encountered a small, well-camouflaged one that was only a few inches from Piston's feet. One bite would have been lethal to any of us. We crossed the river and found more remains, and with the use of dowsing, we were able to find many silver coins. Our surprise was that they were coins known as macuquinas, which are almost 400 years old, which shows us how long the first settlers lived here.
