Liquid Gold | A Real Story Of The Everyday Struggles In Congo | Short Film

"Liquid Gold" is a short, intimate reflection on survival, faith, and gratitude in the middle of scarcity. About two months ago, one of the main water pipes in our municipality burst—Since then, daily life has revolved around survival. No water to cook. No water to bathe. No water to use the bathroom. A quiet crisis that doesn’t make headlines, yet reshapes every moment of the day.🧎🏾‍♂️ As we're in Congo, you bet no clear solution is in sight. Since we can't trust men to bring about said solutions (and promptly) our prayers shifted. We began asking God for rain—just enough to collect, to cope, to make life a little more bearable. And then the heavens opened. It rained. And it hasn’t really stopped since.😩♥️ This short film may not fix our situation, nor does it claim to change the lives of those still struggling. But I hope that it has created some sort of awareness. To remind you just how precious and sacred water truly is. And, more importantly, to gently nudge us all toward gratitude—for what we have (and what we don't have), even in the middle of hardship. In spite of the lack, God’s got us. Always. Remember that.♥️ PS big shout out to the men who travel many a kilometers, to municipalities that have water, to gather 100 liters of water at a time and manoever over the worst dirt roads using makeshift wheelbarrows to deliver the clean water to us.
