Crash Course in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with ANSYS Fluent and STAR-CCM+
Hi, here's the video that should preface all my other videos. It's important to understand the basics of CFD and I go over everything that I talk about in my other videos, but slightly more in-depth. I also show the basic math on why we need turbulence models for the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. This is an introductory video for people looking into getting into and trying to understand CFD. This marks just about 1 year since my first video and I've explained most of what I currently know outside of my research focus. As I continue to learn more in the future, I may upload more complex tutorials. Part 1: What is CFD? 1:33 Part 2: What is needed for CFD? 2:33 Part 3: Workflow Overview 5:47 Part 4: Navier-Stokes Equation and RANS 8:50 Part 5: Geometry 13:14 Part 6: Meshing 13:52 Part 7: Setting Up Solver: 21:58 Part 8: Solving 33:02 Part 9: Post-Processing 36:21 Part 10: Types of Errors / Common Errors 37:05 Part 11: Conclusion 40:47 Here are my recommended resources: FOR ANSYS: Fluent manual which explains almost all parts of the solver: https://www.afs.enea.it/project/neptu.... FOR STAR-CCM+: Star-CCM+ Manual is found in the Steve Portal, but the same physics of Fluent applies. NASA Turbulence Modeling Validations and online resources: https://turbmodels.larc.nasa.gov/ Frank White's "Fluid Mechanics" (any edition after 5) I do not provide free homework help or troubleshooting of any kind beyond Youtube comments. However, if you are looking to get a bit of input or help on a project you can buy me a coffee and I'll respond: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/anthonytg For business and research inquiries, I can be reached at [email protected].
