3 Brutal Techniques to Glue Your Mix Together; Professional and Cohesive Sound You know when you press play on your mix and it sounds like each instrument is on a different planet, while professional mixes sound perfectly cohesive, polished, with that incredible cohesiveness? 😅 👉 Audio Expert Training https://eduardorabuske.com.br/audio-e... 👉 Mixing Templates https://eduardorabuske.com.br/templat... 👉 Uncomplicated Mixing Book: From Basic to Advanced https://eduardorabuske.com.br/mixagem... 👉 The Definitive Guide to Professional Mastering Book https://eduardorabuske.com.br/o-guia-... 👉 Mastering the Equalizer Ebook https://eduardorabuske.com.br/ebook-d... 👉 WhatsApp Study Group: https://eduardorabuske.com.br/grupo-d... 👉 Content Blog https://eduardorabuske.com.br/blog 👉 Free Ebook: All About Compressors https://eduardorabuske.com.br/ebook-c... 👉 Instagram / eduardorkestudio In this video, [3 Brutal Techniques to Glue Your Mix Together], I'll show you, step by step, how to create that feeling that all the instruments are playing together, in the same space, even if each musician recorded in a different home studio. We start by understanding why, in the past, the "glue" effect came "for free" in studio recordings, with everyone in the same room, and why today, with each instrument recorded separately, that "glue" simply… disappears. Next, I'll go into the 3 brutal techniques I use in my professional mixes: 🔹 Technique 1 – Bus Compressor on Mixbus (Master Bus) I'll show you how to use classic compressors like SSL, API 2500, Shadow Hills, Fairchild, Manley Vari-Mu, Focusrite Red 3, and others to create that "hug" in the mix. You'll see practical settings for ratio, attack, release, and threshold to create cohesion without destroying the dynamics. 🔹 Technique 2 – Analog Console Summing/Simulation Here I explain the logic of analog summing and why today I prefer to use console simulators (like SSL, Neve, API, Trident, etc.) on each channel, making everyone go through "the same equipment." This creates a unique sonic identity and a much stronger connection between all the elements of the mix. 🔹 Technique 3 – Intelligent Room Reverb (The Killer One!) This is the technique that makes the biggest difference: using a single, well-adjusted room reverb to place all instruments within the same virtual room. I show you how to choose the type of reverb (room), how to adjust the decay, how to equalize the reverb to avoid muddiness, and how to dose the right amount on vocals, drums, guitars, backing vocals, etc., to create depth and cohesion at the same time. In addition, throughout the video I discuss: How intelligent editing and quantization help create the feeling of a band playing together The importance of relative equalization for each instrument to "fit" in its place How to use mix templates and console simulation to speed up your workflow And how you can delve even deeper with the Audio Expert training and my books "Uncomplicated Mixing" and "The Definitive Guide to Mastering". If you're tired of your mix sounding disjointed, raw, and lacking identity, this video will change the way you mix. Did you enjoy the content?
