Having a comfortable base gave us the chance to slow down, enjoy the local lifestyle, and experience more of the area than we normally could while moving from camp to camp. Between caring for the property and settling into a relaxed routine, we made the most of Esperance’s cafés, foreshore walks, friendly town centre, and spectacular coastal scenery. During our stay, we explored the beaches and lookouts along the Great Ocean Drive, visited the unforgettable Cape Le Grand National Park, and enjoyed the brilliant white sand and turquoise water of of all the beaches in this area, Twilight Beach, West Beach, Nine Mile Beach and Eleven Mile Beach. House sitting gave us the perfect balance between everyday life and adventure, with plenty of opportunities for day trips before returning to a home base each evening to the cutest cat. After three weeks of beautiful beaches, national parks, local history, and relaxed coastal living, Esperance became one of the most memorable stops on our journey around Australia.
