With a population of 364,134, Iceland is one of the most expensive countries. The Icelandic currency is the Icelandic Krona. The Icelandic minimum wage is approximately $2,200. Like other Nordic countries, Iceland is very expensive. While its economy is not very developed, I would say it is a European country with a high level of prosperity. Iceland has a cold climate, but due to its abundance of hot springs, it differs somewhat from other Nordic countries. Although the Icelandic climate changes constantly throughout the day, the people there are not affected by this change, and I can say that they are very prepared for it. The official language of Iceland is Icelandic, and although the native language is very old, all Icelanders speak it. English and German are also among the most widely spoken languages. The capital of Iceland is Reykjavik. Transportation can be a bit challenging due to the Icelandic climate. I definitely recommend 4x4s for those who want to rent a car. Places to Visit in Iceland Black Sands in Iceland. You can see many Icelandic black sand beaches, like Reynisfjara Beach and Diamond Beach. This beach, formed by the crumbling of cooled lava, has a very authentic appearance. Lava Tunnel, also known as a broken lava tunnel, is a tunnel where lava flowed from an Icelandic volcano 5,000 years ago.
