24 Hour Winter Lumber Run | Off Grid Cabin Build in Remote Alaska
We set out on a winter supply run to bring home the first load of lumber for our cabin build — six hours from the nearest big box store, snowy mountain passes ahead, and a full day planned from start to finish. After an early 3am start, a long drive, and a stop to pick up a used trailer, the trip took an unexpected turn. Somewhere between errands and the long road home, the truck broke down. A cold parking lot, fading daylight, part stores closing, and a heavy trailer of lumber to get back home- we had to get it running again. Its been over a decade and a half since we built our first cabin and homestead. This build is out of pocket, bit by bit, using used materials when we can get them. We are excited to start this one, and can't wait to share progress with you all as we go along! 'Til next week, -Dennis, Amy & Lena End Music By: @HawkenHorse, who wrote us "Holdfast".
