Washington Backcountry Discovery Route A Dualsport Bucketlist item

Episode 1. Riding our motorcycles North to South, we start at the Border of Canada and the USA, and ride to Conconully WA in this episode. The Washington Backcountry Discovery Route ( WABDR for short ) has been on my dualsport bucket list for some time now. 2 years ago I couldn't get the time off needed to ride it. Last year my group was skunked due to wildfires raging across much of the route so we headed south and made our adventure around some great areas in Southern Oregon. 2022, and we are FINALLY able to ride our adventure bikes on this 600 mile route through the backcountry of Washington State. Less camping footage in this series due to the fact that we are camping to ride, not riding to camp. Speaking from recent experience, a BDR is not something you should take lightly, or do as a beginner skill level. Not just living off the bike for 5-6 days, but also riding in sometimes very rugged terrain, you will need realistic confidence in your abilities, realistic expectations, a good amount of stamina, the right equipment and the proper mindset to see the end. This is a motorcycle ride off the beaten path, and something to work towards being able to do, not set out as a beginner off road rider or a beginner at moto camping.
