Pangong Tso - World's Highest Salt Water Lake | Pangong Lake to Hanle | Ep11

The road between Pangong Lake to Hanle Lake is 90% good & 10% offroad and very beautiful. Due to small puncher in my bike's tyre the ride was little tense as a result couldn't make it to Umling La. Later in the evening took rest in an Homestay at Hanle Village. Tried capture stars but was unsuccessful due to cloudy weather. Hanle is a remote, historic village in Ladakh's Changthang region, situated at 4,500 meters (14,764 feet). It is famous for housing the Indian Astronomical Observatory, the Hanle Monastery, and the country's first Dark Sky Reserve. Because of its high altitude, arid climate, and complete lack of light pollution, Hanle has some of the clearest skies in the world. In December 2022, a 22 km radius around the village was declared as the Hanle Dark Sky Reserve (HDSR). Hanle also has Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO) operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (Bangalore), it features the 2-meter Himalayan Chandra Telescope, making it one of the highest observatories in the world.
