Wolfram Electric I-200 – wzmacniacz lampowy, jak żaden inny do tej pory

Can anything truly new still be invented in the world of tube amplifiers? In this film I talk about the Wolfram Electric I-200, a remarkable new integrated tube amplifier designed by Rumen Artarski, known to many as the founder of Thrax Audio. At the heart of this design is Unitron — an original concept based on direct coupling between the driver tube and the output tube, allowing them to work more closely together, almost like one organism. This is not just a technical story for me. I first heard the I-200 at ETF – European Triode Festival with our Closer Acoustics Forlana speakers. Later I listened to it again at RCM Audio in Katowice, and then I took it home to live with it properly — with my own records, my own systems, and my own reference points. In this video I compare the I-200 in real listening conditions with: • OGY • OGY + BOB • BLOCKS based on OKHO + BOB • and directly against my own Closer Acoustics Provocateur 300B I also talk about how it handles very different music: • Ravel Piano Concertos – Seong-Jin Cho / Boston Symphony Orchestra / Deutsche Grammophon • Billie Eilish – Happier Than Ever • Lady Blackbird – Blackbird • and even Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring on a full BLOCKS setup with OKHO + two pairs of BOBs For me, this is not just another interesting tube amp. The longer I listen to it, the more I feel that this may be the best tube amplifier I have personally had the chance to know. I also discuss: • the idea behind Unitron • why classic single-ended amplifiers are so loved • what compromises they traditionally involve • and why Rumen Artarski’s solution feels genuinely fresh From now on, Closer Acoustics speakers can also be heard at RCM Audio in Katowice, where we are moving our showroom. And in the next film: Koetsu.
