Mail is a special held item first introduced in generation 2 Pokémon games, because of that, it tends to be a bit buggy. It doesn't really have any practical use besides sending fun messages to friends, however, there are a few glitches and glitch effects caused by glitch mail. Glitch mail does exist in the other generations (III - V), but aren't documented too well.
