Scouting Jewish Artists in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

As part of the upcoming documentary series Finding Jewish Art, artist and curator Samuel Abelow (partner at The Current Selection) hits the streets of Crown Heights, Brooklyn — the heart of the Chabad Orthodox Jewish community — to scout for signs of a Jewish art movement in the making. At an annual neighborhood art fair, Samuel meets an array of passionate creators and characters. Their views on art, spirituality, and the economy paint a vivid portrait of what it means to make art from within Jewish life today. Did he find the next star of Jewish art? Maybe.
