People who lack a permanent place to live and are forced to live on the streets or temporarily in shelters often lack a means of support. The term "homeless" has been adopted instead of "without a roof" because it is considered that the greatest need is not a roof over their heads, but rather the lack of a family and a job—in other words, a home. Their testimonies will help us understand the circumstances that led them to this situation, which is often accompanied by a traumatic breakdown of family and social ties.
