Law Enforcement Unit - Summer Camp 2026

𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 One of the many Career Technical Education opportunities at Summer Encampment 2026 is our Law Enforcement Unit (LEU), where cadets gain a firsthand understanding of the criminal justice system through hands-on, experiential learning. The LEU curriculum goes beyond street-level law enforcement by introducing cadets to the complete legal process—from an initial investigation and arrest to courtroom procedures and the role of judges, attorneys, witnesses, and juries. Through a mock trial, cadets experience how each part of the justice system works together while developing critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and civic responsibility. Hear from Army veteran, former law enforcement officer, and California Cadet Corps Alumnus Jacob Rodriguez, the Lead Instructor for the Law Enforcement Unit, as he explains why it's important for students to understand the full scope of the legal system, explore careers in public safety, and develop leadership and character through realistic, hands-on training. You'll also hear from California State Guard Major Veronica Braxton, who helped lead the mock trial and provided cadets with insight into courtroom procedures and the legal process. Finally, hear from Cadet Corporal McCrillis, who shares what it was like participating in the mock trial and experiencing a courtroom setting from a cadet's perspective.
