Hi 👋 I'm Lala, and for today's video, I went to El Florido Industrial Park to see what the job situation is like in Tijuana… and honestly, it does feel different. 😳 Before, you'd see huge lines outside the factories and get in super fast, and now there are huge lines, but many companies have few openings, hiring is frozen, or they require too many qualifications to get in. People are looking for work early in the morning, but many factories have also reduced production because orders in the United States have decreased. Everything is more expensive in Tijuana: 🏠 rent 🍔 food 🚗 transportation …and yet many jobs still pay about the same. You also hear a lot about: temporary shutdowns, less overtime, lower profit sharing, and companies laying off staff. Even so, people keep coming to Tijuana looking for opportunities because it's still a city with a lot of factories and industrial activity.
