Basilica of Transfiguration | Israel video tour

with David Hyman, professional tour guide. Mount Tabor ( In Hebrew: Har Tavor) is the suggested site of the Transfiguration of Christ. The new testament mentions that the transfiguration took place on "a high mountain" and therefore a few option where suggested over the years. In the year 348 CE, Cyril the Bishop of Jerusalem declared that the Transfiguration indeed took place on the summit of Mount Tabor, and since then churches and shrines have been built on the summit, both by the greek orthodox church and the Latin church. Our video-tour will explore the modern Basilica built by the Franciscans in the year 1924 and the surroundings.
