The area around our mountain home is full of predators like birds of prey and snakes, which are dangerous for chicks. So we loaded a container onto a pickup truck and took them to the pasture... but with the netting covering them, they looked completely like they were being shipped out! We also had a lot of trouble attaching silicone leg bands for individual identification at the site. Once we released them, they did all sorts of unexpected things that were completely different from what we expected, like gulping down muddy water despite there being clean spring water nearby, and meeting goats for the first time. It was really funny 😂 Another highlight is the difference in their reactions to the couple! They come running to the wife who is taking care of them, but the husband is completely ignored and becomes "just a security guard"... From the final, most challenging mission—"recovering the chicks" (a bonus)—this video is packed with realistic glimpses into daily life with animals in the countryside!
