Saturated water vapor in a rigid container | Thermodynamics
Welcome to Engineering Hack! In today's video we are solving a Thermodynamic's problem. The problem tells us that a closed rigid container contain a mixture of Saturated water vapour, and Heat is added to a system. We want to determine Temperature of each state, the mass of vapour present at each state and if the heating is continued determine the preassure at wich container hold only saturated temperature. The problem requires you to know that in a rigid container volume is not changing, the definition of specific volume and quality, with some other pure substances. Everything else comes by analyzing the problem and the system at hand. Problem statement: A closed rigid container with a volume of 0.2m3 initially contain a mixture of Saturated water vapour at a pressure of 100kpa with a quality of 50 percent. Heat is added to a system until it reaches 200 kpa sketch the diagram in pv and tv. Determine 1) Temperature of each state 2) mass of vapour present at each state 3) If the heating is continued determine the preassure at wich container hold only saturated temperature. Answer a) 5.895 h/day b) 0.2257 kg c) 210 kPa In this video: 00:00 Intro 00:22 Problem statement 01:02 Problem analysis 02:30 P-V and T-V diagram 04:30 Temperature of state one 05:19 Temperature of state two 08:55 Mass of each state 13:09 Preassure at wich container hold only saturated temperature 15:55 Final Thoughts 🎓 Can you trust the answers and solutions provided? Well, you never should trust anything 100%. Make sure you are checking for yourself. When I’m solving the questions, I always solve on my own and then check the results against other sources. If there is divergence, I look for more sources. So while I can’t promise you everything will be 100% correct, I can promise I’ve done my due diligence before posting.
