Snorkeling THE GREAT BARRIER REEF At Lady Elliot Island In Bundaberg (VLOG)

Like & Subscribe :) Instagram: @amyandaleks We had a once in a lifetime opportunity to snorkel The Great Barrier Reef at Lady Elliot Island in Bundaberg. If you ever find yourself with the same opportunity, congratulations!! But also, here are some tips we picked up along the way! 1. Ride share options are extremely limited in Bundaberg. If you’re thinking you can get an Uber (or Didi) to the airport from your AirBnB or vice versa, you’re going to be disappointed. Plan ahead with a taxi or rent a car. Otherwise, you’ll be relying on Neuron scooters like we were! 🛴 2. If you’re someone who wears glasses and hates contact lenses, Lady Elliot Island has free prescription snorkel goggles for you to rent 🤓 Just let them know your prescription and they’ll have you put down a deposit. As long as you bring them back in one piece, you’ll get the deposit back. We only know this because Aleks asked if he could wear glasses under the goggles - otherwise he would have gone all this way just to see a blurry Great Barrier Reef! 3. If you’re someone who gets seasick, bring dramamine or something for your motion sickness. Whatever works for you! They take you out on a glass bottom boat and those waters are rocky 🤢 4. Ask the pilot if you can sit up front with them! ✈️ The same guy got to do it both ways on our trip and I wish I would have just asked as soon as I saw the pilot. That would be such a cool experience that I don’t think the average person gets everyday! 5. Everybody’s favorite ginger beer is made right in Bundaberg! There is actually a brewery in town that does tours but we ran out of time and couldn’t go. At the very least, make sure you pick some up at a store so you can enjoy this delicious drink in the place it’s made! We felt so grateful during this trip and we honestly both couldn’t believe this was our life the entire time we were there. It’s something we’d obviously highly recommend if you ever get the chance!
