The very next day, Bhadra 23 (Sept 8), multiple delegations arrived again, demanding arrangements for peace and security so that the demonstration could take place in a non-violent way. What began as a simple request for permission turned into a movement that reshaped Nepal’s history. The protest was not only about raising voices against corruption — it became a turning point that ended decades of unstable “musical chair” politics and brought forward a new leadership, including the country’s first female Prime Minister. The spark was lit on Sept 4, when the government announced a complete ban on 26 major digital platforms including Facebook and YouTube. What seemed like just another restriction quickly grew into a wave of anger among the youth. By Sept 8, thousands gathered in Maitighar, frustrated not only by the social media ban but also by unemployment, corruption, economic inequality, and decades of failed governance. Most participants had no detailed political agenda — they simply wanted an end to the cycle of a few leaders ruling the nation for decades.
