Roseanna Ruane | The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy
This week’s guest is Roseanna Ruane, mother of Saoírse Ruane, who captured the hearts of Ireland when she appeared with Ryan on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020. Saoírse’s story inspired the launch of the Toy Show Appeal, raising millions for children's charities. Tragically, Saoírse passed away in March 2024 at the age of 12 after a prolonged fight with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer. On ‘The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy’, the renowned broadcaster, author and book lover sits down with household names to discover the books that have influenced their lives. Every week, Ryan will turn the pages of their life through the prism of three books: The childhood book, the book that brought them joy, and the book that changed their life. New episode every Tuesday. Brought to you by Eason – Ireland’s favourite bookseller.
