2001 Otis Series 1 Hydraulic Elevator - Old Main Building @ Canisius University - Buffalo, NY

(3/27/2026) Here’s an Otis Series 1 elevator at Canisius University. It’s at the Old Main Building, or Building B as shown on the map. Though what’s interesting about Old Main, is that it’s actually the oldest building on campus, being built as early as 1913! I guess there was some sort of renovation going on in 2001, hence the fairly modern Otis design? (Well… modern by this building’s standards lol) Anywho, back when I studied at Canisius, Old Main is where I took a majority of my classes. In fact, this was actually the first elevator I really paid attention to! Sure, I’ve ridden elevators before, and I’m sure this also included Otis Series 1 elevators, but this was the first one I really looked into the features, leading to my elevator fixation around fall 2022. I’ve since graduated Canisius back in May 2024, but I still come to campus for frequent visits, including this one. Why it took 7 months to upload my second elevator video at Canisius, I’ll explain when I record the library elevator. But for now, enjoy the video!
