The lyrics speak of Bonnie Prince Charlie fleeing his enemies along with Flora MacDonald. I have fond memories of singing this song with several other ladies at a Scottish sing led by the fine singer and storyteller Flora MacDonald Gammon, who was named after the woman who had aided Prince Charlie.
