“The Long Road; Stories of love, hope and autistic young people with complex needs” follows Zac, who is currently at Prior’s Court, and former young people Peter and Jenny, and their families. Through personal stories, the film reflects on the challenges many families face before a young person comes to Prior’s Court, the support that can help change the direction of a young person’s life, and the ongoing worries parents hold as their children move into adulthood. Jenny and Peter’s families describe how their time at Prior’s Court helped shape confident and fulfilled adulthoods, while also acknowledging that families continue to advocate for their children throughout their lives. As Jenny’s father Mark Sutcliffe shares in the film, “Believe, have ambition, infinite calm, and patience and structure and repetition and it will all work out.” The views expressed in this video are those of the individuals concerned.
