UEC++ From Basics to Advanced | M35-021: RPC in Blueprint and C++ Operations

This lesson demonstrates implementing all three RPC types in both Blueprint and C++. The instructor creates an Actor with Server_AddHealth, Client_AddHealth, and Multicast_AddHealth functions. A Level Blueprint spawns the Actor, sets its Owner to the first player's controller, and calls the RPCs. The Server function adds health on the server and broadcasts the result. The Client function executes only on the owning client (showing a blue log). The Multicast function executes everywhere (showing a red log). For verification, the instructor runs with two clients and demonstrates that the owning client receives Client + Multicast, while the other client receives only Multicast. Blueprint versions of the same RPCs are created using Custom Events with Replicates set to Run on Server, Run on Owning Client, or Multicast, allowing students to see the behavioral differences between the two approaches.
