Via Ferrata Děčín #11 - Dráteník (E)

The "Tinker" starts to the left of a platform accessible by any of the variants of route #1 - "Path to Heaven". Tinker has been reclassified from D- to E in 2023. This route contains some pretty technical and strenuous sections, that can also feel quite exposed. The crux is slightly overhanging, and it is very possible that the climber in front of you might choose to retreat. Fortunately, there is a spacious ledge with a rung at shoulder height, which allows for safe passing. Climbing shoes will aid with some smaller footholds when getting over the bulge. I try to only use the rock itself to climb, whenever I feel it makes sense and I feel safe enough doing it. Holding onto the steel rope and rungs is perfectly fine though, and most people hold almost exclusively onto those when climbing a via ferrata. 📖 Please inform yourself about principles of safe via ferrata climbing before attempting it. 🧗 Never climb without a helmet! serious head injury can occur if you fall. there is high potential for falling debris from above you there are rental places literally around the corner 👟 Use appropriate footwear. Runners are generally preferred to heavy hiking boots. Climbing shoes are not necessary, but can come handy on harder routes (D+) 🧤 Gloves are recommended. 🦨 Please avoid using chalk.
