Before mentioning the amount of urea to apply to corn crops, I'd like to point out that it's important to consider the amount of organic matter and clay in each soil type. To understand this data more clearly, I recommend that corn farmers have their soil tested. This may be costly, but it can help them save a significant amount of money on the amount of fertilizer they need to apply to their crops. Before discussing the amount of urea to apply, I would like to point out that the quantities mentioned in this video are based on a study conducted by the Colombian Institute of Agriculture on warm-weather soils. This study resulted in requirements in kilograms of urea per hectare for corn cultivation, taking into account the different soils in Colombia. These soils are quite varied, ranging from sandy soils to clay loam soils, soils that are typically found in warm climates. The main consideration was the amount of organic matter in these soil types. This determines the amount of nitrogen that should be applied to corn crops.
