Active for nearly two decades, he rose to fame with hits like “Promise” and became one of the country’s most respected artists. He won several local awards, including Artist of the Year (2021/2022) at the Yumi FM PNG Music Awards, and helped popularize Tok Pisin and local-language songs across PNG. Daniel Bilip passed away after a short but brave battle with cancer. He was 38. Bilip died at 12:30 p.m. Today Friday, 10 October 2025, at the Angau Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Ward in Lae, Morobe Province.
