The Substance (2024) tells the story of a woman who splits herself in two to regain her former fame. Helter Skelter (2012) is about a woman who has become beautiful through experimental surgery and struggles to survive in the fashion industry. All three films have one thing in common: "Beauty" as a concept is maddening. It requires a great deal of effort, yet its fragility remains. So why bother? We explore this in this video.
