Boy from the Fifties: a tribute to Mikel Automatic (Tulsa Punk Rock Pioneer)

This documentary began as a project to record and preserve the music of the late Mikel Automatic (aka Michael Lykins). Lykins was a Tulsa punk rock pioneer who played in a number of local bands, and was well known in the underground music scene during the formative years of the late Seventies and early Eighties. His untimely death in 2006 left much of his work undocumented. Working through scratchy demo tapes and handwritten notes, Jeff Klein of NOTA has recorded a number of these songs for a tribute album under the name Get Off My Lawn.
