The Hard to Catch Horse what Happens When He Pulls Back

In this follow-up to the hard-to-catch horse series, Mr. Cappel addresses another dangerous habit—pulling back on the halter. This behavior can quickly become unsafe for both horse and handler if not handled correctly. Rather than fighting the horse, Mr. Cappel uses a solid post as an anchor point while allowing controlled movement through the halter setup. By giving the horse a chance to search for the right answer, the horse begins to discover the place of release—where pressure disappears and comfort begins. The goal isn’t restraint—it’s understanding. When the horse finds that “picture,” they can stand quietly and confidently instead of reacting in fear or resistance. This is a thoughtful, step-by-step approach to turning a dangerous habit into a learning moment. For Video Coaching or On-Site Training with me 🔻 https://www.cappeltrainingandshoeing....
