Tasha Stones reveals the impact being profoundly deaf has had on her mental health
Great British Bake Off semi-finalist Tasha Stones reveals the impact that being profoundly deaf has had on her mental health. Tasha opens up about feeling isolated and suffering from depression in her teenage years, to the extent that she didn't want to be alive. After becoming more involved with the deaf community, Tasha's confidence grew, leading to her becoming the first deaf contestant in Great British Bake Off history. With Tasha becoming more confident and proud of her deafness, she applied for a hearing dog, and we captured the moment she met her hearing dog, Cockapoo Digby, for the first time.
