Former federal prosecutor explains strategy behind Charlie Kirk murder hearing

The preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, resumed Wednesday as prosecutors continued presenting evidence they say establishes probable cause for the case to proceed to trial. The hearing follows an emotional first day in court that included surveillance video, witness testimony, and arguments over evidence involving Robinson's former roommate, Lance Twiggs. Judge proceedings also addressed whether portions of Twiggs' recorded statement should remain sealed. The court ordered certain redactions after prosecutors argued the material included text messages, chat logs, and a handwritten note connected to the investigation.
