XC & SWR Diverts Along the Portsmouth Direct Line - 14/4/19

Welcome to Episode 13 of Rover Diverts! Today I am filming the diverts on the Portsmouth Direct Line. CrossCountry and South Western Railway were diverting their services via this route due to engineering works beyond Basingstoke. Services were also seen by Great Western Railway and Govia Thameslink Railway in the brand of Southern. The diverts were fantastic to film, lots of trains were seen and I was surprised by that for a Sunday! The services were frequent, the views from the stations were brilliant and it was my first time on the Portsmouth Direct Line and I'll certainly come back for a day out! My favourite station throughout was Liphook, the views were spectacular there. XC ran their diverts a bit less than SWR did due to the length of time it took but nevertheless, it was still good to see everything.
