Here is my first cover from one of my favorite games of all time, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes! This game is insanely nostalgic to me so I was insanely stoked when my man R9000 requested that I shred up the main theme to this game. The OST to this game can tend to be difficult to put together in a metal format but this particular song as well as a few more can definitely do the trick! (there are still some additional songs I want to do from this game as well!) I wanted to capture the vibe of the original theme as well as the vibe of the game itself with this cover. I experimented with a lot of different synth effects to put you in a space (or even in space itself). I really dig how the layers ended up working together in this arrangement! My initial idea was to go in a more rhythm guitar oriented direction and get some really awesome Meshuggah / In Flames style chug riffs in there. I really enjoy some of the grooves in this cover especially when locked in with the drums, I found myself re-recording certain parts an insane amount of times just because I wanted to continue playing it! I'm super happy with how this cover turned out. I wanted to really capture the feel of Metroid Prime 2 and I felt that I was able to with this arrangement.
