The Fire of Envy－Yasogami（八十神）－ A cinematic mythic ambient ballad inspired by the jealousy of the Yasogami and the suffering of Ōnamuchi in Japanese mythology. Before the trials. Before the healing. Before destiny revealed its purpose. There was envy. In the mythology of Izumo, the eighty brothers known as the Yasogami become consumed by jealousy toward Ōnamuchi. What begins as resentment slowly grows into cruelty, setting in motion a tragedy that will forever change the course of his journey. ■ About the Track “The Fire of Envy — Yasogami” explores the destructive power of jealousy and the helpless sorrow of those forced to witness its consequences. Rather than portraying conflict through action, the music follows the quiet growth of darkness within the human heart. The fire of envy leaves no visible mark, yet it spreads silently, turning admiration into resentment and kindness into betrayal. Fragile female vocals carry the story from the perspective of a grieving mother watching fate unfold. Minimal koto, breathy shakuhachi, subtle biwa, dark ambient textures, and low drones create an atmosphere of sacred tragedy and inevitable loss. The recurring name “Ōnamuchi” echoes throughout the piece as both a lament and a remembrance — a voice calling across distance, grief, and ash.
