Japanese Style Flower | Watercolor Painting

I’ve been drawn to Japanese art for a long time, and this piece grew from that curiosity. I experimented with three flowers in this style, and it was fascinating to see one bloom almost out of nowhere. The palette is mostly neutral, allowing the flower to stand out and gently shine. For the leaves, I used Shadow Violet, Sepia, and Indigo from Daniel Smith. The flower itself is painted with a combination of Quinacridone Rose and Rose Madder from Mijello Mission. One of the most important parts of this painting is adding details with a fine brush and thicker paint. These delicate lines bring depth and help create that subtle Japanese character. 🌸 It was such a fun and rewarding process.
