When we speak about the power of the gospel, we are referring to its ability to effectively bring salvation to everyone who believes. The gospel is not merely the recounting of a historical event; within it lies the power of God to deliver humanity from the bondage of sin and death. That is why anyone who genuinely receives Christ experiences the power of a transformed life and can no longer continue living comfortably in sin. Scripture clearly describes the gospel as “the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16–17). However, an important question must be asked: What gives the gospel its power? What makes this message, which many have dismissed as foolishness, so powerful and life-transforming?
