De tapas por España: Cáceres | RTVE Cocina

On this trip, Adrienne marvels at Cáceres, a city that boasts being one of the best preserved in Europe. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1986, its historic center is touched by magic. And if it's beautiful by day, it's even more so at night when the palaces, churches, squares, and towers are masterfully illuminated. Its history dates back to the Roman period, later to the Almohad period, but this city truly shines around the 15th century when stately homes of extraordinary craftsmanship were built. This urban layout has survived to this day and bewitches you as soon as you pass through the Arco de la Estrella. On the culinary front, Cáceres in particular, and Extremadura in general, boasts an excellent selection of 12 products with designations of origin, such as La Vera paprika, ham, various cheeses, and lamb. High-quality ingredients are used to create recipes of humble origins that are truly appreciated today, such as migas (breadcrumbs), morros (morros), and patatera (patatera).
