Thunchath ezhuthachan is well known as father of Malayalam Language. He was a poet, a translator and a linguist. His full name was Thunchath Ramanujan Ezhuthachan. He lived in 16 th century .He is considered as one of three prachina kavithrayam of old malayalam literature along with Kunchan Nambiar and Cherusseri.
