BMW Boxer engine cylinders are exposed; impacts from stones, a fall off-road, or scrapes against plastered walls while maneuvering in tight spaces can scratch the valve cover. Furthermore, the 1250's ShiftCam engines, whose ShiftCam mechanism is meticulously designed so that the valve cover is mounted by force, carry the risk of the valve cover shifting relative to the cylinder head when significant force is applied, potentially affecting the valve timing system. Therefore, providing additional protection for the valve cover is of particular importance. To this end, we have developed a set of sophisticated protectors, distinguished by their precise fit to the contours of the valve cover, leaving very little play. This, in turn, demands precise manufacturing. The protector is made of durable, impact-resistant plastic. On the inner face, facing the valve cover, we have integrated segments made of an elastic material resistant to high temperatures. These segments are sized to absorb impacts according to their Shore hardness (*). When external forces are applied, their protective and supportive effect ensures that these forces are absorbed and distributed evenly across the segments, thus preventing force spikes. Although primarily decorative, they act as an additional protective element in unforeseen circumstances, further reducing the risk of valve cover abrasion and associated oil loss. In this way, the protectors help to reduce, and ideally prevent, the risk of secondary damage. On the other hand, it can be easily installed using the mounting kit included in the package. Furthermore, our valve protectors are "Made in Germany," so we offer a five-year warranty. Please note: Our valve and cylinder protectors are only compatible with standard BMW valve covers.
