Episode 1280 Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) is convinced that the mice are coming from Tommy Deakin’s (Paddy Joyce) stables. Jerry (Graham Haberfield) and Albert (Jack Howarth) start walking along the Pennine Way. Len (Peter Adamson) reassures Maggie that the stables can’t be at fault. Len questions why Maggie is still holding a grudge against Alf (Bryan Mosley) over Mike Ritchie’s (Murray Kash) departure. Elsie (Pat Phoenix) thinks Maggie’s pain stems from being second best. Ernie (Stephen Hancock) turns down a job involving taking pictures of strippers on moral grounds. Albert grows annoyed with Jerry’s strict food rationing and storms off to find a pub. Elsie discovers a mouse at No. 11 and realises that Stan (Bernard Youens) must be to blame. Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) secretly takes on the job of photographing the strippers. Stan refuses to let Elsie check his kitchen, and Alan (Alan Browning) feels she handled the situation badly. Albert isn’t happy when Bert Slater (Joe Holroyd), the landlord of the Old Nag's Head, gushes about Herbert James (Llewellyn Rees). Emily awkwardly begins photographing the strippers and is shocked when one of them removes their bra.
