12AT7 Regen with new modifications

installed more shielding, now have S-meter tracker via pin6 of the 12AX7. Made changes to the 6AU6 Rf amplifier and also installed RF Choke in series with the +HV power rail. placed solid drums on the Bandspread, main tuning capacitor and the main tuning knob to help stop hand capitance, including installing new sheild between the 6AU6 and the 500pf main tuning capacitor. Placed new 1.2k resistor in series to the regen control. I have tested the plate voltage down as low as 35vdc and still have regeneration. All in all, I think this homebrew project is pretty darn neat! ‐------------------ This is a custom, three-tube homebrew regenerative shortwave radio receiver built using vintage vacuum tube technology. It is a high-performance design capable of pulling in faint, long-distance international signals (DX) from thousands of miles away. The receiver uses a sophisticated three-stage circuit architecture: RF Amplifier Stage (6AU6): A sharp-cutoff pentode tube acts as a tuned Radio Frequency (RF) preamplifier. It boosts weak incoming signals from the antenna and isolates the antenna from the detector to prevent frequency drifting and accidental signal radiation. Regenerative Detector Stage (12AT7): A high-gain dual-triode tube serves as the heart of the radio. By feeding a portion of the amplified signal back into its own input (regeneration), it amplifies weak signals thousands of times over, allowing it to demodulate AM voice, Single Sideband (SSB), and Morse code (CW). Audio Amplifier Stage (12AX7): A high-mu dual-triode tube takes the extracted audio signal from the detector and amplifies it to a high enough volume to comfortably drive headphones or a small speaker. To ensure stable, hum-free performance, the radio relies on a well-filtered, high-voltage DC power supply utilizing a dedicated inductor (choke) to eliminate AC line noise.
