Yo soy Antonio Rivero - I am Antonio Rivero (Argentine Song about Gaucho Rivero)

•Luis Vernet arrived in Buenos Aires in 1817 shortly after he was sent by the Argentine government to the Malvinas Islands with the commitment to carry out a commercial and population development project, on June 10, 1829 the government of the republic took a momentous measure , created the political and military command of the Malvinas and appointed Luis Vernet as its first governor. Vernet was willing to comply with Argentine legislation and in the exercise of his duties decided to arrest 3 North American vessels for hunting sea lions without authorization, the crew of one of the boats was sent to Buenos Aires to be tried, Vernet and his family traveled together with they. In retaliation, the Americans sent the corvette Lexington, which for 22 days sowed terror, occupied buildings, looted and destroyed properties, arrested and beat residents, spread the version that Vernet, if he returned, would be sentenced to death by hanging, using this lie as a psychological weapon. Very soon after on January 2 and 3, 1833, the British went to usurp the Malvinas Islands by force. However, the Gaucho Rivero recovered the Malvinas Islands with other gauchos, amerindians and whites and held it waiting for the reinforcements of the Argentine army that never arrived.
