As the case disappears from the media, I discover that he was never brought to trial. Declared criminally irresponsible due to psychiatric disorders, he was committed to a secure psychiatric unit. For over a year, I conducted an investigation that challenged medical confidentiality and the secrecy of the judicial inquiry, interviewing police officers, criminal defense lawyers, and psychiatric experts. My goal: to understand why this man, who faced up to 30 years in prison, was never brought to justice for his actions. And how, seven years after the attack, I managed to track him down. Important note: this case involves an extreme case of paranoid schizophrenia. It is crucial to remember that the vast majority of people with schizophrenia are not dangerous. It is a psychiatric disorder that affects the perception of reality, but it does not systematically lead to violence. Featuring interviews with Adrien Gabeaud, Christophe Molmy, Nicolas from the BRI (Research and Intervention Brigade), Georges Salinas, Sandrine Larremendy, Franck Bonnier, David-Olivier Reverdy, Johanna Rozenblum, Karine Jean, Christian Sainte, Michel Delpuech, Rudy Reichstadt, Dr. Bilal Bendid, Dr. Vincent Mahé, and Christophe from the Criminal Investigation Department. The audio recordings, footage of the intervention, videos from local residents, and television clips presented in this documentary are authentic.
