A Smooth Landing on Ruth Glacier / Talkeetna, AK - June 17

When the day is long due to extended daylight, you fill it with some of the best memories! Today will go down as one of the best. We started it by meeting another Iditarod musher, Riley Dyche. Riley is from our neck of the woods (Shenandoah, IA). And about as humble and ordinary as most Midwesterners are. It wasn’t until after our dog ride that I found out he has participated in SIX Iditarod races. And placed 7th in the most recent race held in March. Next stop was ‪@K2Aviation‬ for the most spectacular airplane ride to Ruth Glacier. We even got to witness an avalanche. This day will probably be one of my most favorite Alaskan adventures. To end the day, we toured the small town of Talkeetna and found an ice cream cone. What. A. Day!
