"Normal hit" should not exist. I shouldn't exist either. I shouldn't have to watch other people have fun with the game that I spent over 3 thousand dollars fixing. The ONLY difference between normal hit and counter hit should be that counter hit deals more damage. That's it! The hit reaction should be practically the same for consistency's sake. Literally EVERYONE would love it if the game functioned this way. I can't foresee any downside to this change. People need to learn how to block. This game is dumb. Don't try to get good at DOA. It isn't worth your effort. The normal hit problem affects other (all) top players as well. Don't give these developers money. For the sake of DOA's integrity as a competitive E-sport, be honest with yourselves... Is it FUN when your strike causes a different stun than you intended? Is it fun that the hit stun of your strikes become WORSE because your opponent has bad fundamentals? Is it sensible that dealing damage to your opponent leaves you at frame disadvantage? Is it sensible that you are vulnerable to a GUARANTEED throw punish because your opponent forgot to block? Is it sensible that free-cancelling your SUCCESSFUL string puts you in a 50/50 situation even though you dealt damage? Is it rational to reward players who whiff strikes with frame advantage? Is it rational to punish a player who evaded all their opponent's attacks and landed a counter-attack? Should well-designed fighting games frustrate players who are capable of downloading their opponent's patterns? Should well-designed fighting games frustrate players who have good yomi? Should well-designed fighting games frustrate players who CAN consistently dominate many of their opponents with accurate predictions? Is it an enjoyable experience when your opponent muffles the impact of your attack by accident? Is it an enjoyable experience that hitting your opponent when their back is turned is too often more of an inconvenient annoyance than a pleasant surprise? Is it an enjoyable experience to have to hesitate after winning the neutral game because strikes cause random hit effects determined by the opponent's actions prior to being hit? All you have to do is replace most strikes' normal hit reaction with their counter hit or hi counter hit reaction. EVERYONE will LOVE this change! They will love it because their moves will always WORK as they INTENDED! DOA needs CONSISTENCY. All you have to do is make Dead or Alive FUNCTION PROPERLY! DOA has been like this since the beginning. No one ever noticed. No one ever thought to change it. You people just accepted it. Virtua Fighter is afflicted by this normal hit problem also. Maybe even Tekken and other 3D fighters. Think MORE. Try HARDER. People rely on you for their entertainment. Stop letting people down. Improve your game design philosophy. Make good video games! I know from the first trailer of DOA6 Last Round that you did not fix the normal hit problem. So I'm going to download the free version of the game just to document every single strike that is negative on hit and every strike that is inconsistent on hit. This is probably the worst thing about Dead or Alive, tied with the immoral fanservice. Ugh... I'm good at this game. There are many games I am bad at, but I could be the best at this game if I practiced, and if you stop MAKING ME LOSE.
