PONTEFRACT CASTLE | A Kings DEATH, BATTLES Raged & LIQUORICE Was Born!

Pontefract Castle, located in West Yorkshire, England, was once one of the most formidable fortresses in medieval England. Originally built by the Normans in the late 11th century, the castle was expanded over the centuries into a mighty stronghold, playing a key role in England’s political and military history. It was famously known as the place where King Richard II was imprisoned and likely murdered in 1400. Throughout the Wars of the Roses and the English Civil War, Pontefract Castle was a strategic stronghold, changing hands multiple times before being besieged and eventually dismantled by Parliamentary forces in 1649 to prevent its further use in conflict. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Consider Supporting us on: 📌 Youtube Memberships:    / @pinnedonplaces   📌 Discord:   / discord   📌 Instagram:   / pinnedonplaces   📌 Website: https://www.pinnedonplaces.com 📌 Patreon:   / pinnedonplaces   Music Credits: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📌 Epidemic Sound 📌 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you join us next time on our adventures.
