After six years travelling Australia full time, we’ve learnt that no matter how good a place is, sometimes conditions force your hand… and this time, the weather on the Ningaloo Coast pushed us to our limit. Relentless wind, tough conditions, and weeks stuck waiting it out in a caravan park in Exmouth just wasn’t working anymore… it was time to go. We had some incredible days here and genuinely loved our summer on the Ningaloo. We knew what we were signing up for heading here in the middle of the off season, it’s called that for a reason. But when the wind sets in for weeks on end and there’s no window for the kind of camping we came for… you know it’s time to move. After one last dinner with the Cartwrights and Jayden and Tyla, we packed up and made the call to head south… chasing calmer conditions and a reset. What we found in Monkey Mia, Shark Bay was something completely different. Still water. Quiet mornings. A place to breathe again. But out here, especially on the Western Australian coast, things can change fast… and just because it’s calm now, doesn’t mean it stays that way.
